Stephen Okawaki is a highly motivated private equity real estate professional with over 10 years’ experience in financial services and investment management. He is responsible for developing best-in-class analytics that are intuitive, functional, and insight-driving for asset management, portfolio management, corporate, and the firm’s ownership.
Stephen joined Affinius Capital in 2019 (known then as USAA Real Estate Company), a private real estate investment manager headquartered in San Antonio, Texas where he supports the newly-created Portfolio Management Analytics team charged with developing the firm’s emerging analytical bench. Prior to this role, he served in Portfolio Management where he was responsible for creating analytics, assisting in business strategy, and executing operational requirements to deliver the firm’s investment mandates.
He was recently selected to support the firm’s emerging multi-billion dollar Data Center platform. Immediately prior, he served the firm's single largest Separate Account, a worldwide, diversified investment mandate of equity and credit real estate products co-led by the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategy Officer. He also served on the firm’s Open-End Government Building fund, and previously served on the firm’s flagship open-end diversified core-plus fund.
Prior to Affinius, Stephen served as a Business Analyst for the Global Wealth Management Analytics & Reporting team in JPMorgan’s Private Bank.
He holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance from the University of Texas San Antonio, and recently completed his Master of Science in Finance (MSF) from the UTSA Alvarez College of Business with a 4.00 GPA.
